Construction Events

Our construction sites are a great place to learn new skills in construction, but sometimes we have volunteers who want to learn even more. While we are open to all volunteers at any skill level, sometimes we have some volunteers who are a bit hesitant to step on a build site for the first time before learning more. This is why we are partnering with Home Depot to offer classes specifically for our volunteers.

Below we have some dates for our next classes. They take place at the Home Depot in McHenry at 2461 North Richmond Road. To attend these classes, please sign up by clicking on the links below.

We have the following classes coming up:

July 12th, 7:00-8:30 pm, Power Tools and Measurement

July 19th, 7:00-8:30 pm, Painting Techniques

As more classes are scheduled, we will be adding more. To see other classes that Home Depot provides, you can check here:

We are holding the dedication for a new home soon. The Robles family will be moving into 8402 Stillwater Road in Wonder Lake. Join us at 11:00 am to celebrate their new home!

Women at Work

We will be holding special build days once a month during the summer for our lady volunteers. Some people believe that construction is just a man’s job and that women don’t belong on the build site. This is far from the truth and some of our most capable volunteers over the years (and even a construction manager) have been women. If you would just like to simply join us for a regular build day, you can see our schedule here:

Our first event will be held on June 25th. We will be at 4609 West Shore Drive in McHenry doing siding.
